Hope House Referral Process.
If you believe you have a prospective referral that may benefit from placement at Hope House, please consider the following factors:
Hope House is an unsecured setting that uses public schools and is classified "low-security" by FIA.
Family/foster family participation and involvement are key factors in the responsiveness of residents to the integrated components of individual, group, and family counseling. When distance or financial considerations are present, Hope House and the referring county need to have a plan in place to support family participation and visitation. If the youth does not have an identified post placement family, we will work with you to establish one once the resident is in care.
Key areas of treatment addressed at Hope House are:
To Make A Referral
Contact Hope House by telephone and an initial phone assessment will be conducted to help evaluate the appropriateness of the referral to the program.
Should the phone assessment reveal possible appropriateness of the referral, a referral packet should be completed and sent including items mentioned on the Caseworker Checklist. Also at that time, an appointment can be made for a pre-placement visit and initial intake interview. If a resident is appropriate for placement, she will be scheduled for the next open bed.
If a pre-placement visit is not practical due to factors such as distance, FIA regulations state that Hope House must make a contact with the prospective resident and her family prior to admission. When the initial interview and the prospective date of placement are the same, no final decision will be made with regard to disposition until after we have evaluated the youth. In cases where the initial interview reveals that the youth in not appropriate, Hope House will aid you in securing a more appropriate setting.
